Our Mission

The mission of Dazed & Confucius is to provide short-term, project based assistance to non-profits that will address urgent communications, rebranding, social enterprise and/or fundraising needs in a manner that includes immediate implementation and the provision of a foundation and tools for long-term positive effects in these areas.

In the non-profit arena, the following are 4 ‘truths’ Dazed & Confucius has observed and seeks to address:

  • Traditional grants and funding sources are no longer dependable.
  • Budgetary constraints mean that non-profits are unable to accommodate   long-term/permanent marketing/fund development staff members.
  • Social Media is becoming increasingly relevant and a necessary strategy for promotion, marketing, relationship building and maintenance with clients and communities.
  • There is pressure to utilize alternate methods of Social Enterprise & Fundraising in place of funding/grants.

Non-profit organizations are no longer able to rely on government funding and long-established granting organizations and funders to keep programs running and growing, and to meet the needs of clients and communities. As a result, organizations having to cut costs and think ‘outside the box’ in terms of finding other avenues for funding – social enterprise. Further, there is a growing pressure to adopt a social media strategy continues to increase, in order to establish, maintain and grow relationships with current and future clients and donors. At the same time, many non-profit organizations are unable to accommodate full-time or long-term marketing/outreach staff due to funding cuts and financial instability.

By offering short-term, contract based solutions for pressing communications, marketing and/or fundraising needs in a manner that allows for sustainability and long-term positive effects, Dazed & Confucius seeks to address the current needs of many non-profit organizations, based on the present socio-economic realities they are facing.
